2019 Walk for Hope and Recovery- Weymouth @ Old South Union Church

With the support of Old South Union Church (OSU), the Addiction Recovery Team (formerly called the Opioid Crisis team) is hosting the Walk for Hope and Recovery on September 21, 2019. This event, open to all, is a way to unify and strengthen our community amidst this devastating crisis. The 1.4 mile walk will begin and end at OSU. Music and resources will be provided after the walk. Please join us as we walk to stomp out the stigma of addiction and celebrate recovery one step at a time.
If you pre-registered on September 14th or earlier, please arrive around 12:30 to get your t-shirt.

T-shirts/Donations 

    • Suggested donation of $5, $10, $15, $20, other (donations of $5 or more will get a t-shirt).
    • Donation is not required for participation.
    • 100% of your donations will help the Addiction Recovery Team’s work to make this walk an annual event and support community efforts in prevention and recovery from addiction. Thank you for your support!
  • In order to receive a t-shirt you must register by September 14th, to allow time for t-shirt production. However, after September 14th, though we won’t be taking any more orders for t-shirts, you will still be able to register and donate.

Up next in the Milton PARENT Speaker Series, Mary Cole, MPH, CHES presents “Vaping and Our Youth: Strategies for Prevention” on Tuesday January 21st at 6:30pm at the MHS auditorium.

Learn more about what e-cigarette and vape products are, why they are harmful, how the tobacco and vaping industry are targeting kids, and how to protect our kids from this latest trend. Mary Cole is the Program Coordinator of the Greater Boston Tobacco-Free Community Partnership. Mary has her Masters in Public Health from Boston University and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).

This event is free and open to the public.
